![]() ![]() Musical texture can also range from one dimensional to multidimensional ( source). ![]() We can conceive of musical texture as the density or thickness of a musical piece, showing the range between the lowest and highest pitches. Musical texture is the layering of a musical piece it can have one layer or multiple layers, which will build the texture and quality of a song. Harmony plays a role in the music’s feel, often displaying the song’s emotion, either the composer’s feelings or those the composer wants the listener to feel. Harmonies do not draw your attention away from the melody they merely build a texture behind it, adding substance to the piece of music.Ĭords often build up harmonies, and chords are multiple pitches played at once. HarmonyĪ harmony is supporting pitches that accompany a melody. The melody is the frame of a song built by a series of individual notes/pitches strung together, forming the most prominent layer in a piece of music by being louder, more dynamic, and having a higher pitch than the harmony. MelodyĪ melody is the fundamental element of music. We refer to beat as tempo, pulse, and meter.Ī beat happens when you have the main beat and an opposing beat with a different sound, which you perform using high and low drum beats or long and short beats. Rhythm builds on the beat, and both are always related to each other ( source).Īs an interesting side note, in Greek, rhythmos means “to flow.” BeatĪ beat is the unit of time we use in a piece of music, and it is the steady and regular pulse we hear in music. Rhythm does not have to be regular and evenly spaced as with a beat, so we understand rhythm as the movement of music through time. ![]() Each measure satisfies the staff’s specific time signature, and we know this time signature as the beat. We can discern the pitch based on where the note is on the staff, and we know what rhythm to play by what type of note it is in the measure.Ī measure is the section of music that comes between two bar lines. ![]()

These experiments show how manually-labeled negative annotations can improve information extraction performance, demonstrating the importance of high-quality, fine-grained natural language annotations. The word " list " means that someone or something is put on a list or that it is registered by itself. Instead, we incorporated high-quality data to train the models by annotating additional information on top of a standard corpus. The features used for classification were quite simple, utilizing only lexical information and ignoring higher-level linguistic information such as syntax and semantics. We utilize a series of support vector machine models in conjunction with manually built lexicons to classify triggers specific to each risk factor. Diffraction is the process of light bending around an obstacle or spreading out after it moves through a small space. Diffraction A special case of interference is known as diffraction and takes place when a wave strikes the barrier of an aperture or edge. The extent of the diffraction also depends on the wavelength of the waves. Diffraction is a physical phenomenon that occurs when a wave finds an aperture or an object in its path. the phenomenon exhibited by wave fronts that, passing the edge of an opaque body, are modulated, thereby causing a redistribution of energy within the front: it. Waves passing through a wide gap (gap width greater than the wavelength) Waves passing through a narrow gap (gap width less than the wavelength)Ī gap width much larger than the wavelength causes little spreading eg light waves passing through a doorway. Change or dispersion of the direction and intensity of a wave as it traverses an object or aperture, especially when the size of the object or aperture. The wavelength is unchanged after diffraction.Ī gap width similar to the wavelength of the waves passing through causes a lot of spreading, eg sound waves passing through a doorway. The extent of the spreading (diffraction) depends on how the width of the gap compares to the wavelength of the waves. This is diffraction - the spreading out of waves when they go through a gap, or past the edge of a barrier. The definition of what resolution is required to resolve an E is not clear cut, but you should expect to be able to resolve 20/20. Huygens principle All points on a wavefront can be considered as point sources for the production of secondary wavelets, and at a. The waves always 'spread' to some extent into the area beyond the gap. Diffraction Diffraction describes the tendency for light to bend around corners. This may seem obvious but what happens on the far side of the gap or barrier is not so straightforward. When waves meet a gap or an edge in a barrier, they continue through the gap or past the edge of the barrier. ![]() ![]() The other class of programs look at actual image content. ![]() In this case, other than the file name, the metadata should be the same and these tools would work well if you tell it to ignore file name. For example you may have a folder with original file names and another folder of the same images but where you've renamed them. These are best when dealing with images that are really the same image (i.e. The better of these allow you to choose which metada to use and in what order. One class of these programs work only by looking at metadata to detect duplicates. Actually there are several dozen such programs and each one does some things better and other things worse than similar programs. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.Īnother one is Duplicate Photo Cleaner. A few of them can use the catalog to ID what photos to analyze but from then on igrone it so that if you delete or move duplicate images the tool finds, they wind up "missing" in LrC. Anyway, there are many standalone products that can do that quite well, "duplicate photo fixer", "duplicate photo clearner", "Duplicat Cleaner Pro", to name a few, just none of them take into account the LrC catalog. And, of cousre some images have damage like scratches, different fading, torn corners, etc. Add in that those prints may have been scanned at different resolutions and some may include the white border from the print with our without extra space behyond the edge to the print or with those borders cropped off. The part of my requirement for "near duplicate" is to find images that originated from the same negative or slide but where over the years were printed on several different occasions, at different sizes, sometimes in Color as well as B&W and with different crops. I suspect that the tags, labels and KW's on all of these would be the same. For example, I have over 200 images of where the only peple in it are Joe and June (grandparents) and were taken mostly in their living room. With Any Vision, even if I ran my entire 100,000 image catalog through it and generated tags and labels too many photos that are very different images would have the same tags and labels. My main need to to find duplicate (or near duplicate) photos using an LrC plugin. Quite interesting but not quite what I was looking for. It wouold be a great feature to also allow you to have the plugin sync metadata from the to be deleted copy to the to be retained copy. Then when you select which to keep and which to discard, will do the delete or remove through LrC so the catalog stays consistent. What I haven't found, and what I'm asking here if anyone else has found, is a LrC plugin, that will not only allow you to select the to be compared images using the Lightroom Grid, but then can use image content to find potential duplicates. I even found one that will read the LrC catalog to select the set of images it will compare (but doesn't run as a plugin) Some of these don't even mind if some are rotated, or cropped and can match color with monochrome versions. On the other hand, there are a significant number of standalone programs that can detect duplicate images based on the actual visual content of the image. In the world of scanning old prints it is not uncommon to find copies of the same images in multiple homes, and even in the same home one may be in a photo album and a copy in a shoe box and the negative in a binder. ![]() For example a scan of an 8x10 color print from Mom's attic compared to a slightly cropped 3 x 5 monocrhome printed from the same negative found in Grandpa's basement. A very common situation where metadata is not consistent is scanned images. However these two tools fall apart where metadata is not consistent. While this works well with images from digital cameras where file names, capture date/time, pixel dimensions and the like are the same on all the dupliate copies. Both of these plugin's only use metadata comparisons to identify potential dupluicates. These are Teekesselchen and Duplicate Finder 2. ![]() ![]() I know of two LrC plugin's that can be used from within LrC for the purpose of finding (and removing) duplicate images. ![]() ![]() ![]() Perhaps, there is another script out there. I am hoping there is a simple answer to this question. I need the text to word wrap within the box and keep the text size the same. How do I convert this text object of individual lines into a ?text box? so that the text will wrap within the box? When I stretch the box of text, it stretches the letters (and changes the aspect ratio of the text) which I don?t want. ![]() Question: since I am relatively new to AI usage. I am able to merge two text strings together with this command. Then, AI didn?t recognize it initially until I exitted AI and restarted. Initially in the download, I noticed it opens up a web page with the program in text so, I had to copy and paste to a text file (notepad) and rename the extension to. I am using Adobe Illustrator CS3, and I am working with a lot of legacy information which comes with text with individual lines and even individual characters. The merged textframe will retain all of the object-level attributes of this textframe. If you sort by top, then it’s the topmost frame. So, what the script does do, is retain the settings from what I call the “primary” textframe, the one that is first in the sorting order. Unfortunately there isn’t a good way to synthesize these since the settings between two frames because they can be in direct conflict with each other. The textframes that get merged can have any variety object-level settings applied to them (InCopy assignment, multiple columns, drop shadows, etc). In trying to take into account all of the possible cases, I tried to avoid guessing what the user wants, because I may end up overwriting something that he/she cares about. Re: Multiple columns and InCopy Assignment, I address a little bit of this inĪ lot of these things are at the level of the textframe itself and not the text content. It’s a very helpful plug-in, but I often get lots of text frames where I just want one. One example of where I know I’ll be using this is after converting files with the PDF2ID plug-in from recosoft. Here’s an example (before, dialog box, and after): You can also find a version for Illustrator here. The Merge Text Frames for Adobe InDesign script works in InDesign CS2, CS3, and CS4. Now, help comes to InDesign and Illustrator, in the forms of a couple of scripts written by Ajar Productions. If I recall, there was a cool feature of Aldus PageMaker (I’m sorry, but it’ll never really be Adobe PageMaker to me) that let you copy a bunch of text frames at the same time, then past them all into a single, merged story. But if they’re unthreaded frames, then getting all that text into a single frame can be a pain in the… well, pick your least favorite part of the body to have a pain of this sort. ![]() Not a big deal if they’re already threaded together.
